Our little traveller.

We just returned from our trip to Denver, Colorado.  I read something before we left about travelling being an excellent learning and growth opportunity for kids- that sure seemed true.  Elliott was awesome- it was a real urban experience and he just held my hand through it all.  We did some really fun things, and had some good visits, and I'll post those separate from these cute travel pics.  We took our car to Seattle, and then flew, and went on a myriad of trains, light rail, buses etc.
the boys eating on the plane.
Elliott played the i-pad when all the other entertainment wore off.
This is a typical Elliott expression- slightly worried.
Elliott trying to figure out the clouds.
We don't have light rail in Kamloops- too bad.
Done- glad to be going home.

photo shoot

Last night, Elliott really wanted his picture taken.  He came up with all these poses and laughed his pants off after each shot.  We even resumed the 'sitting' in the morning.  I've got millions of the on my phone, in case anyone needs a few more.

my boys

Elliott loves when I say "Where are my boys?"  Aren't they so cute together?

TV time

We use TV everyday to give everyone a little down time.  We try to contain the quantity and quality, but regardless Elliott LOVES it.  I'm not sure how long he could watch it for, but certainly longer than I let him.  We are going on holiday soon to Colorado, and I'm really looking forward to not having to watch the final race in the CARS movie everyday.  Who knew that could make a holiday?!

Mother Goose

We hosted our final Mother Goose session for the year in our back yard last night.  This is a community program that we love, and have gained so much from (amazing friends, great songs, lovely family time) and it felt really good to be in our yard with all these great people, singing songs.

gillis visit

We were lucky to have our friends the Gillis's come for the long weekend.  The kids were awesome (besides a 3pm crash yesterday- thank heavens for movies).  The first picture is from 3 years ago, C is holding Elliott- pretty cute to see what they are up together these days. There was lots of giggles during this.

Bob our fish

We have a fish named Bob.  Thank god glen takes care of him, because if it was left up to me, Bob wouldn't be here.  I love this picture of the boys cleaning Bob's bowl together.

sleeping boy

After our looong goodbyes every night, I say my secret goodnights before I head to bed.  This is how cute it gets.

Mother's Day

Elli gave me this cute card with an aborable transciption from glen.  I understand that this is the card he picked given the option of 10 others (i'm not really a dog fan, but love the sentiment here).

easter cuties

Had a couple of photos from another camera that I forgot to upload.  Couldn't pass by these Easter cuties!

 Decorating the Easter tree!
E&E got amazingly large and sweet bunny cookies.  They both ate everything on the surface of the cookie.
 mmmmmm chocolate.  Glen's boy.

Lightening McQueen

Elli is decidedly infatuated with Cars.  For his first time ever, he picked out a toy and paid with his money.  He was so sad they didn't have Sally (McQueen's girlfriend) for sale.

Sunny at Paul Lake

We spent this past Sunday outside- it was so nice!  We are all ready to camp this summer and so took the day to scope out some sites.  Elliott is more enthusiastic than mommy, but not as enthusiastic as glen.

Easter!

We were lucky to have some friends from Vancouver join us for Easter.  The kids were so cute about Easter- so very excited.  Here are a couple of pictures that capture Elliott on the hunt.

Catch-up

It has taken me 6 months to learn how to download photos from my new (now old) phone!  But now I'm onto it, and wanted to share a few good months worth of phone pictures.
Our neice, who we adore and wish she lived closer to us.

Glen had to work New Year's Eve and Day so Elliott and I had breakfast out together in Kelowna.... we missed Papa, but it was kind of special too.
EJ loves hockey- especially this $250 mask.
Glen and I had a mini-break in Kelowna- this is their new outdoor skate rink.  Way to go Kelowna planners.
Sort of fuzzy- but Elliott loves to shave with glen- he's got cream all over his hands.
Last night we had a picnic in the park with our friends.  Elliott LOVES his friend SJ and they wrestled and played like this together for about an hour.  It is lovely to see him enjoying a friend so much (who needs a brother?).
Spontateous park play with friends after daycare.

Our fantastic, wonderful neighbours at Mother Goose- we spend Monday nights together at our local school singing our hearts out.

new tree

We had out tree taken down today.  elliott loves the stump- his new tree fort.  I'm on the hunt for the perfect tree- shade, tallish, nice folliage, fast growing, and unique.  Ideas?

birthday party

wholly smokes we went to an "all out" 3rd b'day party this year. There was a craft and games (and prizes!) and home-made sliders, an amazing cake, and sandpail loot bags.  Even the bathroom was decorated!  We all had lots of fun.  Let the b'day season begin!

Baking with Nama

My mom is such a good sport.  She drove up so that she could satisfy Elliott's wish and go to gymnastics with him (he wanted to show her everything that he loves to do there).  This morning was the start of outdoor soccer, so she got to catch that too.  BUT, what she didn't know that she was in for was baking a double batch of cookies at 7:00am.  Slightly different than her normal retirement routine.

Cupcakes!

Sometimes the mornings of getting out of the house to daycare and work go very poorly- today was such a morning.  An end of the day treat for everyone was delicious mini-cupcakes.  As you can see, they garnered much excitement.

lifejacket jumps

Two cute parts to this story...
1. Elliott has a mini-trampoline this week because he agreed to a toy trade with his friend Anderson. (He has the much coveted excavator).
2. Elliott is so pumped about the summer and can't wait to start fishing with Dad.  He is currently having a bath with his lifejacket on (definitely glen's boy).
