Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!
We are having lots of fun as it snows in Kamloops and we all prepare for Christmas.

First sled walk of the year, and EVER for Finny.
EJ and Glen make a perfect snowman.  EJ ate more snow than anything else.
The boys under the tree.  What could be a better gift that they are!  Seriously!
Glen and I took the boys out for a holiday lunch.  Madness!  At least we try.
 My cute little santa.
My big cute Santa.

Catch-up

My girlfriend and I took the kids to Westsyde petting zoo a couple of fridays in Novemeber.  I took this shot from my car, while breastfeeding.  Can you believe how beautiful it is outside?
And the big boys feeding ducks....

Finn loves the jolly jumper.  And he LOVES spiderman.  Who loves it even more that his baby brother doesn't know who is behind the mask.
In our spare time!  EJ was so proud (costco kit so mom could pull it off!)
Christmas tree up!  Let the hyper Elliott start and Finn in the snow suit begin.
The boys and I visited my parents for a bit and Elliott took up pushing Finn in the jolly jumper.  Finn, in his usual daredevil ways, didn't mind.

leaves

Fall is SO fast here in Kamloops I only got this one leaf photo!  This is on the side-walk in front of our house during a brief playtime.  The kids were putting up posters to find their lost stomp-rocket.

growing baby

The quality of these photos aren't great, but as you can see Finn has been a busy boy these days.  He is almost 6 month and can get up to all sort of new activities.  Mostly he loves being around Elliott, but the jolly jumper is a very close second.  Finn LOVES it when Elliott jumps next to him... the happy sounds are loud.

bumpa

Noy that we needed any proof, but our boys do love Bumpa so much.  He's more than you could ask for in a Grandpa!

Spirit Bear not there

We went to the Wildlife Park yesterday to see the Spirit Bear (white brown bear, only one in captivity in Kamloops).  Well he is hibernating and not availble to see... how lame is that?!
But fun day at park regardless.

Sorry- one day when I have an extra minute, I'll figure out how to rotaye in blogger.  Anyone know?
Finn got sleepy in the buggy.  Lovely Fall weather in Kamloops coming to an end.  Bring out the MEC gear!

Finn business

shhhh- don't tell elliott.  Spiderman is cool.
Finn tried my banana at lunch- and he loved it!  I ended up taking it away because he was getting more than just bits in his mouth.  I think he is ready!
 Where is the banana?

i-pad

The boys are watching cartoons together.  They both like Spiderman!

Saturday Fun

Almost the end of Saturday Farmer's Market.  A few of the details of our mornings (not including the veggies)
The kids "Balance on Battle."  All the time actually, not just after the market.  But because it is on our way home, it is a bit of a tradition.  I actually have done this with Elliott a lot while Finn is little.  A block from our house, a little fresh air...
Elliott and his friend eat special happy face cookies.  A market tradition that I finally caved to this year.  Smartie eyes, the whole bit.  They look so big hanging out in the basketball courts.

fall

We have had colds and flu's and not a lot of adventures... BUT you should know that spiderman is saving the streets of Nicole and Finn is teething like a maniac (see sophie the giraffe?)
I LOVE the fall, so I am really hoping that we get out there more often.

Finn

Finn is getting bigger.  Not that you could tell from these first photos.  Elliott took both the first two.  I acutally love the first one- it is one of the rare few of me with Finn.

Finn has really enjoyed being on his tummy.  He is definitely going to be a crawler (Elliott never learned how).  He is getting so cute.

Elliott

Elliott is an awesome swimmer- and his teacher is so nice to him (probably helps that glen is her boss).  EJ feels really good about what is learning and doing in the pool and here is shows.

Elliott is also taking music lessons.  He loves this more than either of us thought and he can hardly wait to go each week.  His teacher Todd, is a great teacher and it feels like they are on a roll.
Elliott told me last week that he can't concentrate on CARS anymore, because he loves Spiderman so much.  As a result he wears his costume as much as he can.  Isn't that great?!
And though this is an odd pic, it clearly caputures for me Elliott's growth sinse Finn was born.  Previous to that, he wouldn't have walked this ridge alone.  Although I feel sad that I have less time to be with him, we are so proud that he feels this confident and independant now.

swimming!

Elliott is a star at swimming lessons.  This is new for him, he has been very hesitant to go with a teacher in the past.  So along with all this 4 year old, big brother confidence, he has started lessons and I am SO proud.  I am the only beaming mother on the side.  I must look rediculous but it feels very momentous for me.  And he loves it.  What could be better.

Boys

Glen and I can't believe how cute our boys are and how much we love them.

Late summer

The days are a changing here in the Loops, chilly nights and warm days.  I have to say that I LOVE it.  Even Finn feels better and happier.  Here are the last couple of weeks:

The kids never say NO, even if they don't have bathing suits.  Elliott and Alivia are nuddy lovers.  And maybe love each other too... First love when you are 4?
Later in the day, after a busy day, the kids share a bath. They requested bathing together... parent supervised OF COURSE.
Finn and I've been trying to spend a little time each day outside on the grass.  As you can see, he loves it!
Elliott throwing rocks into the river this Friday.  This is where the Thompson River's meet.  Quite lovely.

MS bike tour

As I've mentioned before, we have an amazing support system (who are really wonderful friends) and yesterday we came together for the MS bike tour.  Together we raised $1500 and had a lot of fun.  Elliott bike 12 km!!! and we all finished with enthusiasm.  We won a team bowling prize because we had a lot of spirit.
Thank you to everyone who donated- it is very appreciated.  See you all at the the bike ride next Sept!

Kelowna

Kelowna is 2.5 hours from Kamloops, so we are lucky to go there fairly easily.  We went this past weekend- we try not to leave the property and enjoy the yard as much as possible.  You can see here what we get up to.

Elliott plays tricks on Bumpa and waiting until after the count of 3 to jump.
Elliott has a new 16 inch bike there (much bigger than his current 12).  He insisted he could not ride it, and it wasn't until I showed him this photo did he believe that Dad actually let go.
Finn loves his hand these days- look at that intent!  He got lots of snuggles from my mom.
The boys played with Elliott's cars for about an hour in this cool tube my mom found.  The took about 100 photos of cars sliding down the tube.  Seriously!  I could never have the interest in cars to do that.

Loving the summer

Our friends put this awesome play structure in their front yard.  The boys love it, and EJ begs to go there and play.

Finn and I walked downtown to buy some things from the deli and he was such a delight to have with me, I took a quick shot to remember the moment.  He looks worried, but he was really so happy to be with me.
Elliott is overjoyed to have this costume.  He wore it to daycare on Thursday and sure enough, someone (daycare manager) thought he was the real spiderman.  His confidence grew by 4 inches.  So cute.
