So even though this happened while Liz was visiting I had to make a separate post. Elliott finished hi first triathlon!!! And he was an amazing trooper. We were so proud and he had fun. Next year I might even organize a little more swimming or running beforehand (we were totally unprepared but no biggie) .

lizzy

Liz is such a good sport, entering our life with gusto and totally rolling with the mania. Great to have her stay last weekend- fun for everyone. And I sure enjoyed some laughs.

birthday party

Fun and chaotic and i'm so glad we are all cleaned up. Poured for first half but was infinitely easier once the sun came out and the kids played in the backyard.  6 tomorrow!

little sucker

Finn got a fun new toy for his birthday and last night glen found a new use...

He was pretty excited about turning 2. Still tells everyone who will listen it is his birthday and he had birthday cake.

face-paint

Almost 2 and almost 6! Finny went for his first face-paint and she picked this bunny for him (he loves bunnies) and she painted a carrot on his finger. And Elliott is Pikachu.

soccer tournament!

The first of many, I assume. Elliott loved it and had lots of fun. He is starting to form new friendships, and hone his soccer skills. But nothing was as great as how high his confidence soared when he got his first goal.

Spark...

Best science center- we are so impressed Calgary. Boys has an awesome time. Next visit, finny will be older yet and we can stay longer.  And best, our $60 a year Big Little Center family pass got us in for free!

hanging out

Visiting Uncle Fred in Calgary and having a fun time. The traveling here was NOT fun, however everything else has been great. The boys love George- and they normally are very afraid.  We also went to the Zoo this morning- awesome.

soccer has started..

I don't think there could be a more enthusiastic player. Elliott is soccer crazy. I'm not so crazy about the schedule but small price for enthusiasm.

best easter

It included some vomiting, colds, tears and tantrums but that is expected.  It also included yummy food, an exciting egg hunt, delicious wine and best of all friendship. We are so lucky the Pope's come up for the 5th annual easter trip.

Named lovingly by Finn, his fascination with Glen's motorcycle ends at the prospect of getting close to it. However, elliott has taken up riding to school on the back of it and LOVES it. We think he just loves the attention of the grade 5 boys when they arrive at the school.

Findlay

When finn's birth certificate came in the mail, I gasped at their mistake. Findlay?!   Glen clarified indeed finny had been registered with this name. Somehow in my stupor I had failed to confirm with glen how we were going to spell finn's name. Important detail that escaped me. Sorry finny!

Big Little

For about 2 years i've wanted to take Elliott to the Big Little Science Center. Finally we went- it is only about 10 minutes form our house- and it was AWESOME!  The kids loved it... as evident from this look of awe.

the sun

Such a beautiful day today- and so outstanding to spend the bulk of it outside. The kids were busy on their bikes, at the wildlife park and at the playground.

I sincerely hope this sun sticks around.

There are these regular moments that I feel so lucky to experience. Something so precious and sincere... hard to describe.

bowling

The boys loved it. And I loved Finn's bowling shoes. Very fun long weekend in kelowna.

long weekend

The start of family day weekend- the boys and I are going to kelowna and glen has to stay behind and work. Taken a couple of weeks ago when it wasn't so freezing and we could actually go outside.

skating

Elliott is taking skating lessons this winter- and loving it. His school is skating weekly, and. We go. Sometimes on the weekend... all around immersion.

 Finny even got a tour one day with daddy.
